I don't know as though there really is a best solution at this time.
\n
Since you asked what I think. I think that it is totally fine that they are doing it and I am okay with it. It isn't going to keep me from using the platform. Ads are so prevalent these days that I think for the most part people don't even notice them. The same will probably be true with Steemit.
\n
It certainly does put things in perspective though when you visit a website and you get the pop up saying, \"we notice you are using an ad blocker\". Then they go on to explain how they rely on ads for revenue. I think a lot of times we assume that these places don't really need that money and they are just being greedy.
\n
As I said though, the recent happenings with Steemit have shined a new light on that. At least for me anyway. I can see now how in many cases ads are a necessary evil. Does that mean I am going to turn off my ad blocker extension?
\n
No way! But I am also not going to stop using sites that choose to use ads to support their business. It just makes sense for them.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"p36tqsxaw","appParentAuthor":"sannihorlas","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |
