The apostle Paul, a man in charge of writing a large part of the New Testament, affirmed: \"All Scripture is inspired by God, and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, so that the man of God be perfect, fully prepared for every good work \"(2 Timothy 3: 16-17).
\n

\n
The Scripture is \"inspired by God\" (from the Greek Theopneustos, which translated literally is \"God breathed it\"). God, through his Holy Spirit, inspired men to record his message; and therefore has the divine authority for doctrine, to reprove, to correct and to instruct in righteousness.
\n

\n
God inspired several men with different backgrounds and generations to record his message to humanity. In a period of more than 1500 years, God inspired prophets, judges, farmers, shepherds, fishermen, doctors and kings to record their thoughts, something similar to when a manager dictates instructions or a letter to his assistant or secretary. At certain times God allowed human writers to use their own words or terminology, but all received divine inspiration from God, who is really the one who wrote the Bible.
\n
The apostle Peter wrote: \"Understanding this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of private interpretation, because prophecy was never brought by human will, but that the holy men of God spoke by being inspired by the Holy Spirit\" (2 Peter 1 : 20-21).
\n

\n
The Scriptures are not something subject to the proper interpretation of human beings; the writer did not write them by his own initiative or impulse, but by the inspiration and intervention of the Holy Spirit. Thus, the Bible is the message of God communicated by men who were inspired by God.
\n

\n
The word of the Lord
\n
Sometimes the message came in a direct way, introduced by phrases such as: \"the Word of the Lord came to me\". A Bible researcher counted more than 3,800 times that the writers of the Scriptures used some variations of the phrase, \"the word of the Lord came to me, saying ...\". In other words, the prophet affirmed with clear authority that God, the Creator of the universe, was the one who actually communicated his message personally to the prophet.
\n

\n
For example, Isaiah says: \"Then the word of the Eternal came to Isaiah, saying, Go and say to Hezekiah, The Lord God of David your father says thus: I have heard your prayer, and seen your tears; behold, I add fifteen years to your days \"(Isaiah 38: 4-5).
\n

\n
In other cases the prophets described their own experiences and offered other perspectives of the same event. They presented the message of God in different styles and languages, and even so, the Holy Spirit guided their thoughts and minds to present the truth of God and not only their humanly invented message. Some writers claimed that they saw God and spoke with Him face to face (Exodus 33:11). Hundreds of thousands, if there were not millions, heard his voice (Exodus 20: 1-22).
\n

\n
When the Author came to earth
\n
The Bible also states that God emptied Himself of his deity and was on earth as a human being, eating, sleeping, laughing, crying, hugging, healing, teaching and finally died. Thousands of people witnessed these events and some of the disciples of Jesus Christ, in whom He trusted, recorded his words and teachings.
\n

\n
The apostle Paul affirmed that he had seen Jesus after his death and resurrection and assured that his teachings came directly from him (Galatians 1: 11-12, 2 Corinthians 12: 2, 1 Corinthians 15: 8).
\n

\n
The human writers
\n
Although God is actually the one who wrote the Bible, He used human beings to write it for us. In many cases we have the names of human writers, but in other cases we must study the tradition or other sources to determine who the writer might have been.
\n

\n
The books of the Bible and their possible writers are:
\n

\n
Old Testament:
\n
• Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy and Job by Moses.
\n
• Joshua by Joshua.
\n
• Judges, Ruth, 1 and 2 Samuel, by Samuel, Natán and / or Gad.
\n
• 1 and 2 Kings, by Jeremiah.
\n
• 1 and 2 Chronicles, Ezra and Nehemiah, by Ezra and Nehemiah. Esther for Mordecai.
\n
• Psalms, mainly David, with others (Asaph, sons of Korah, Haman, Ethan, Solomon and Moses).
\n
• Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon (also known as the Song of Solomon), by Solomon.
\n
• Isaiah, for Isaiah.
\n
• Jeremiah and lamentations, for Jeremiah.
\n
• Ezekiel, by Ezekiel.
\n
• Daniel, for Daniel.
\n
• Hosea, by Hosea.
\n
• Joel, for Joel.
\n
• Amos, by Amos.
\n
• Obadiah, for Obadiah.
\n
• Jonah, for Jonah.
\n
• Micah, by Micah.
\n
• Nahúm, by Nahúm.
\n
• Habacuc, by Habacuc.
\n
• Zephaniah, for Zephaniah.
\n
• Haggai, by Haggai.
\n
• Zacarías by Zacarías.
\n
• Malachi, by Malachi.
\n

\n
New Testament:
\n
• Matthew, for Matthew.
\n
• Marcos, by Marcos.
\n
• Luke and Acts, by Luke.
\n
• Juan, for Juan.
\n
• Romans, 1 and 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 and 2 Thessalonians, 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus and Philemon, for Paul.
\n
• Hebrews, by an unknown author, possibly Pablo.
\n
• Santiago, for Santiago, the half brother of Jesus.
\n
• 1 and 2 of Pedro, by Pedro.
\n
• 1, 2 and 3 of John, by John.
\n
• Judas, for Judas.
\n
• Apocalypse by Juan.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"p3v2x6nd5","appParentAuthor":"iscobet9ja","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}"
