Retinol is one of the active forms of vitamin A that is responsible for the production of some pigments in the retina which help to better perceive the spectrum of visible light. The lack of retinol stops the production of these pigments, which in the future may cause night blindness.</p>\n<p>Vitamin A also has beta carotene, which are antioxidants that fight free radicals which degenerate the cells in the body.
