If you are from a country where $1 is worth much, then steem definitely can be a major source of income. A great plus if you have the passion for writing, have artistic talents or is not afraid to document your personal life (vlog). It is understandable at first that you won't likely earn some money as you are still building your follower base, however after 3months or less when you are now at least known in the steem community, it can be a major money-earner.
