Theobromine causes the heart rate to increase and in some cases have heart palpitations. Because of the affects of caffeine it is advisable for people who are in poor health to abstain from eating chocolate.</p>\n<p>Personally i have never noticed the affects of chocolate on my heart rate but then again it is the quality of chocolate we eat I suppose. In Europe Cadbury's,Nestle and Rowntrees are classified as confectionery and are not chocolate.
