It always seems like the pain only increases when they talk about it. So, they go into a quiet mood, talking to no one and refuse to open up thinking it is doing them good but the reality is that it isn't. In fact, it only gets worse when they do this and it is at such points when they realize that their reserved mood and pushing others away is not helping that a sense of loneliness sweeps in and they start to harbor suicidal thoughts.

Depression is such a terrible state for anyone and once it is identified it should be handles with urgency. Even when they push you away, always be around and keep a close eye on them. Omce their depressive episode depreciates and the sense of loneliness sweeps in, you should be there to offer your shoulders when they need you.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"fkd27wbyq","appParentAuthor":"favourpage","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |

They thought it was some thing you could just snap out of and go on with your life. Being in the depressed state, the last thing you want to do is explain what you are feeling or experiencing . Depression is difficult enough to explain when you are in a positive state of mind, let along when you are actually in the thick of depression.
\n
Another reason I have pushed away from people I love is because I didn't feel worthy of their love and comfort. When I was depressed, I felt like I was bother and that I was sucking the life out of the people I loved. I didn't want or need that on my shoulders when I was fighting the battle of depression. It seemed to make the depression stronger, when I thought about my loved ones spiraling with me.
\n
Depression also made me not have any energy or extra love to give others. With this being said, I just wanted to be alone, because I knew I couldn't be the best friend, the best daughter, the best sister, or the best wife when I was depressed. I just needed to be alone to work though the negative so I could get the the positive. I needed to alone to work on me.
\n
It isn't that people with depression want to push their loved ones away, it is just a necessity in my opinion to work on themselves. To be a better person that the people we love deserve.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"fkd27wbyq","appParentAuthor":"favourpage","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |
