The initial story where her mother Hippolyta sculpts her from clay and is then given life along with her powers by the Gods always intrigued me and I thought it was cool that she never really had a father of her own.

That way she was a true Amazon in every sense of the word, having nothing to do with the world of man in terms of her origin whatsoever. The writers made the right decision when they chose that as her origin story.

Her second origin story was still quite something, it was revealed they her mother Hippolyta had a romance with Zeus and from that romance Diana(wonder woman) was born and she then inherits Godly abilities from her father along with some blessings she received from the other Gods.

Whichever one it is, the fact that she had some sort of affiliation with Greek mythology always seemed to make me like it more than other.

In the case of captain America, It's completely different. Like most super heroes, there was never really anything special about him apart from his unyielding resolve to never give up and to protect others despite his small and scrawny size. My love for underdog stories is probably what makes me love The Cap'ns origin story.

He basically had to lie his way into the army and ended up being the weakest of all the soldiers in his platoon, but then fortune shines on him and he's used as the guinea pig or test subject for a revolutionary super soldier serum which turns him into the bulked up super soldiers that we all know and love. The story is just epic, a perfect example of going from zero to hero!!!

If I had to pick one, I think I'd go with Wonder woman though, I just can't let go of my love for Greek mythology.

I hope this helps.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"pk4r52ndx","appParentAuthor":"holovision","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |
