In an ideal world, the age of a person shouldn't really matter, it's what they bring to the table, their natural ability to lead, solve problems and handle difficult situations that should be what is considered, but alas it's not so in Africa.</p><p>Most countries are being ruled by people who have grand kids and some even have great grand kids. Chances are that anyone above the age of 60 has probably been participating in a countries politics for a long time and in Nigeria that's exactly what it is, so anyone above that age is probably still in some way responsible for how the country is because it's passed governments that wrecked this country.</p><p>Putting an age limit may not directly ensure that the country will get better governance, but it will definitely force out alot of old and bad seeds which will make room for other younger and possibly much better leadership candidates in the country. The world is changing more and more everyday and previous generations like generation X and the baby boomers have almost certainly been left behind so you can't expect someone too old to be leading a country in a time when it's the youths that are moving the world forward.</p><p>I'd support the age limit rule because in a county like Nigeria where the same people that are in office today are the same people that were in office 20 years ago, we need to inject new life into our government.
