I don't think there's any one of the two that's more respected than the other but let me analyse it a little better. Well first things first, the fact that women are fighting for equality could be a sign that fathers are respected more but then again the two situations could be completely unrelated.

I still stand by what I said earlier, the parent that impacts more in a person's life is the one that'll be respected more. Father's are respected pretty well all across the world, what they say is law and most of the time the mothers can't oppose their decisions.

Now the thing is, father's may have the final say in the household but for some reason, the planet is called \"Mother earth\" if you ask me, this is an attestation to just how much mothers are respected. I mean think about it, nobody every calls a boat or a new car or a new bike a \"He\", it's always a \"she\", maybe because that's what everyone does or maybe because women/mothers are respected more.

It's not easy being a father or a mother so I think they should be respected equally, but as for me, I think I respect my dad more than I respect my mom. It's typical African tradition, and I doubt there'll be a lot of other Africans who'll say anything different.

I hope this helps.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"pkjfanfsq","appParentAuthor":"ijoel","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |
