Why does coca-cola taste differently around the world?

Well it tastes differently in different places because there are different standards of producing all around the world. Certain countries like North American and European countries get higher quality coca cola drinks while countries in Africa get lower quality drinks.

Take for example in Nigeria, a 35cl bottle of coke costs only about 80 naira which translates to about 0.25USD but the same bottle of coke costs about 4-5 times that amount in the US. So either coca cola is ripping off Americans or the quality of the coke produced in Nigeria is far lower than that produced in Nigeria.

This is understandable seeing as paying a dollar for a drink might be a bit much for people in 3rd world countries like Nigeria where the minimum wage is less that 100USD a month.

The coke formula is still the same and hasn't changed but in Countries like Nigeria, I guess some corners are cut in order to make it possible to reduce the price, that's why coke tastes different in different places.

I hope this helps.
