More heavy and more weightage of vote you get, you have more chance to make it to the top 20 witnesses. In DPoS consensus process, those having good amount of stake in the from of SP have high influence in representing someone to participate in the consensus process. The top 20 witnesses are key to the consensus process in DPoS protocol of steem.</p>\n<p>If you check the top 20 witnesses, then you can see they have got huge and heavy upvotes from &nbsp;many people including heavy weight stake holder like @freedom. Most of top 20 witnesses have got witnesses vote from @freedom. However you can still make a campaign for yourself in the community in asking for vote and just communicate with the community and present yourself in a better way, I think you can make it. Although it may not be instant and quick but if you are determined, then you can win the people's heart and if most of the people including heavy weight stake holder will support you, then you can make it.</p>\n<p>The voting weight for a witness is always proportional to the amount of SP one holds. So if someone having high SP will vote you then his voting weight will be more effective than someone having lower SP. However every vote counts, be it small in weight or heavy in voting weight.
