It makes it insanely difficult for spammers with no stake to create farm accounts. </p>\n<p>This comes with a downside however, the fact that new accounts are so limited in transacting, it makes it harder to move up the so called \"ranks\", because interaction with others is dampened to an almost non existent level. This is not conducive for users with no upfront investment, and is a recipe to make new users give up.</p>\n<p>A friend of mine recently signed up right before the fork, he was very excited, and now seems to be losing interest because he can only post 6 comments a day. This is a fail to me, as the implementation is obviously driving some new users away. </p>\n<p>There is certainly some give take here.
