In behavioral therapy, they call this \"stuck points\" but I disagree. A stuck point is basically a thought or belief you adhere to, that is so deeply ingrained, that you have a difficult time disassociating the thought, and this thought or belief is so prevalent, that it causes a diverse or negative association in your life.
\n
It is completely logical to suggest, if street A is heavily infested with gangs and violence, and street B is full of peaceful law abiding citizens, then you should really walk down street B. This is an example of minimizing the variables associated with confrontation.
\n
You will never completely remove the risk, as random negative energy will find it's mark from time to time, but you can make decisions that will reduce the likeliness of such confrontations occurring.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"fkz4fvd75","appParentAuthor":"enjoyinglife","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |

Very well said, but mindfulness should very well be the answer! If we are aware of ourselves at every point of time, our triggers & patterns then I feel we can easily control ourselves & not step into unnecessary confrontations :)

I agree, in theory mindfulness is the answer. If you can observe your surroundings without judgement, and accept all for what is, you should be able to rid yourself of the anxieties associated with any given situation. I have been practicing this for years, and I have not even begun to say I'm good at it lol.
