Which in simple terms means arithmetic and algebra are various parts of mathematics.
\n
Now let us look at the dictionary meaning of Arithmetic, Algebra and Mathematics for the moment:-
\n
Arithmetic: is the branch of mathematics that deals with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of numbers - its simple calculations.
\n
Algebra: is the part of mathematics in which symbols i.e. pie, theta, and other complex symbols are used to represent numbers and quantities in formulae and equations.
\n
Mathematics:- is the study of the relationships among numbers, shapes, and quantities
\n

\n

\n
\n
Though arithmetic and algebra are parts of mathematics - the most noticeable difference is that arithmetic is all about numbers and mathematics is all about theory. So we can simply put together that Arithmetic and Algebra are the subsets of Mathematics. Where arithmetic involves simple calculations like addition, subtraction, multiplication etc. Algebra gets a bit complicated where symbols like pie, theta, and other symbols are used to solve complex problems. Mathematics is a superset and all the calculations, formulae, equations, theory, relationships, shapes etc consitutues to Mathematics.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"pkr5yj9d5","appParentAuthor":"giftedminds","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |
