They are not close to the best company when it comes to specifications and they don't want to be it. From what I can come up with, three things (that I can think of) give apple the 'supreme' status they are enjoying.
\n
They keep it simple
\n
They have this mentality of acting like a start up as stated by Steve Jobs. They are not after creating produce with numerous and huge specifications but creating a product a bit better than their last one and which they think you will need. Technology creates confusion. Buying a new and checking different specifications to support your buying decision is a hell lot work. They keep it simple, classify their products very clearly and make your decisions for you. As part they remove those parts (bezels, ports or buttons) they know their customers can do without. They complain before magically agree with their decisions.
\n
They are focussed and exquisite
\n
Apple's closest competitor right now, Samsung have a varieties of products that it becomes confusion to differentiate one from the other. Apple plan their product release years ahead with unique marketing messages and creating anticipation. You are not confused why one iPhone is different from the other. You know what you know what you are getting with a new release months before, making your buying decision easy yet again.
\n
And each has its own appeal. For ecample, You buy an apple because you will or may have to be without your phone. You get a powerful iPad because you don't or will not be moving around with your computer much and so on.
\n

\n

\n
They don't listen to you (their customers).
\n
They solicite for feedbacks and they are loads of them (mostly unsolicited reviews and comments). Yet their product are always hot selling. The problem is consumers don't know what they want until you show and convince them (it happens even in retail store). They show you what you want with a crazy marketing ( I give them that too). If they give you all what you from your feedbacks, then they will make a monstrous product and be successful once. They are ready to wait and even kill off one product for another one coming with adjustment and/or features added or removed which makes the brand new or brand new with every release.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"pk4dgwb85","appParentAuthor":"anuofia","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |
