And while I am not a part of the Musing team, I think I could give a pretty good guess here as to why they are powering down.</p>\n<p>Most likely they are powering down to have <strong>an emergency back-up fund </strong>to cover the costs from running this platform (<em>once their money runs out</em>) and/or they are preparing to release something big in the next months that might need some additional funding. </p>\n<p>Not sure how rich @jonching really is but I actually have been asking myself this question for months now as to how Musing.io stays afloat without needing to do any daily/week blog posts, nor take any beneficiary rewards from their users. (<em>Even now I'm still not really sure where they get the funds to pay for server costs and other stuffs. XD)</em></p>\n<p>With them powering down <strong>with this current market rate</strong>, I could only assume that they are only trying to have an easy access to back-up funds. Converting their SP to liquid Steem makes them more ready to withdraw anytime that fund, if needed.</p>\n<p>Maybe they are now in the middle of creating the Musing mobile app and that fund will be used to pay the developers!
