<p>Assuming that the pet is in the line of a dog, cat or something domestic then in time YES, but not immediately.</p><p>One reason why some parents let a child have a pet at a young age is to teach them how to take care of another living thing. Animals can't talk so it is really up to us humans to deduce and understand what our pet needs and wants from us.</p><p>Due to this, people who have owned at least one pet in his lifetime have subconsciously learned to sympathize with others. Without talking, just feeling the atmosphere and looking at others, one would know how to react. Thus making them look more friendly to others.</p>
