json_metadata | "{"app":"musing/1.1","appTags":["love","life","relationship","question",""],"appCategory":"love","appTitle":"Long distance relationship, what do you think about this?","appBody":"<p>It works for <em>some</em>, </p>\n<p>a terrible idea for <em>most</em>.</p>\n<p>Much as with any kind of relationship, </p>\n<p>you rely on the other person to be as truthful with you, </p>\n<p>and as loyal to you as it is possible.</p>\n<p>But most people, when deprived of physical intimacy, </p>\n<p>turn to either jealousy and paranoid thoughts, </p>\n<p>or, worse, </p>\n<p>seeking fulfillment anywhere they receive attention from.</p>\n<p>And, sure, if you [both of you] can survive short periods of being apart, </p>\n<p>no longer than 3 months at a time,</p>\n<p>your long term relationship may last years to come.</p>\n<p>However, there needs to be a goal in mind.</p>\n<p>There must be \"the day\" you're looking forward to.</p>\n<p>Just being in a relationship for the sake of being in a relationship, </p>\n<p>you're just having a pen pal at that point.</p>\n<p>You need to schedule how you keep the relationship alive.</p>\n<p>You plan ahead.</p>\n<p>If it's a 10 hour flight to get to each other, you set a date, and book tickets.</p>\n<p>I'm sure it's do-able.</p>\n<p>People sacrifice more time to do less important things.</p>\n<p>And you know what,</p>\n<p>at the end of the day it might not work out.</p>\n<p>Much like most relationships.</p>\n<p>People don't are into 5th or 10th boyfriend or girlfriend before they get married, or even serious about their relationships just because they don't want those to last.</p>\n<p>And divorce rates are all time high.</p>\n<p>Sad truth is, temptation is everywhere,</p>\n<p>good looking, good conversation keepers, smart, funny people,</p>\n<p>random encounters with very attractive personalities.</p>\n<p>It's all around us, even if you're just 10 hours apart, think about weeks, or months.</p>\n<p>And there will be that voice at the back of your head,</p>\n<p><em>maybe this would be better for everyone</em>.</p>\n<p>It's not necessarily wrong.</p>\n<p>What we fear the most, is to regret missed chances, opportunities. </p>\n<p>I don't know where I'm going with this.</p>\n<p>Long distance relationships, </p>\n<p>for me they never worked out.</p>\n<p>So I hope I never be separated from my partner for extended periods of time.</p>","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"f3l6ne53w","appParentAuthor":"ericha","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |
