How appropriate do you think it would be for what the platform is meant to be?","appBody":"
Steemians can already send memo to each other now, and I remember there is someone who developed a 'chat' dapp based on using memo. However, I do not think it is a viable solution. Each message will take at least 3 seconds before it can be broadcast. I am not sure if this is acceptable for all chat users. We are used to having instant messaging especially when there are dozens of people chatting at the same time.
\n
Steemians are currently using Discord and steemit.chat for most out-of-blockchain discussion. This had served us well in most cases and should continue to do so. I am sure we don't want all our junk chat messages to end up in the blockchain, chunking up all the resources.
\n
On the other hand, if steemit or busy would develop an integration of Discord onto the UI, that might be doable. I am guessing that is probably at a low priority right now, as they are probably busy with finishing up other features like Hivemind.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"pkt2jtldx","appParentAuthor":"acesontop","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |
