Its a bad thing because as a country, we have not been able to provide our citizens with a clean hygienic lifestyle and opportunities to live a decent life that they deserve. And poverty comes with other problems. Lack of education and a vicious circle of generations remaining poor. </p><p>The root of the above problem and or another major problem is corporate and government corruption. Few political leaders in india are not educated themselves and once in a position of power, they exploit it by thinking of short term gains as opposed to long term. Short term gains being bribes for approving projects without thinking of what it means for the environment and masses.
