| json_metadata | "{"app":"Musing","appTags":["Swimming"],"appCategory":"Swimming","appTitle":"What age is the minimum age that a child should be before going to swim at the swimming pool?","appBody":"<p>Well there isn't actually a particular age when a child can start swimming, after all, I once saw on the news a story about a baby you at just a few months old could swim effortlessly from one end of a pool to the other and I was absolutely baffled considering the fact that I only learned how to swim when I was 17years old.</p><p>Well that's just a one off case and most babies will probably drown faster than you can even say drown so please nobody should get any ideas and say you heard it from me.</p><p>The AAP (American Association of Pediatrics) recommends that people should kids should be registered for swimming lessons from the age of 4 so I guess that's would be the best time to start teaching your kids how to swim.</p><p>I'd probably hold off on that till they were at least 6 though, but I'm quite overprotective and I've actually seen kids that young(4yrs old) be taught how to swim and trust me when I say it isn't pretty. As expected they're always so scared of the water and when they put their heads under water it becomes a different ball game entirely.</p><p>If you ask me, I'd let the kids grow more to maybe 6-8, that way they won't be as afraid of the water and they'll be able to hold their breaths for longer.</p><p>I hope this helps.</p>","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"fkea23485","appParentAuthor":"kilishi","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |
