In any case, if marriages aren't working out, the true fault is on the couples themselves, not the society around them. If there's anything ruining marriage today, it's people's craving for instant gratification and their short-term focus.
\n
What can be done? Here are a few things that could help:
\n
First: I'd suggest people to wait on sex in a relationship, it's better to save something so intimate & special for the one you're sure want to spend your life with. It doesn't matter if you're gay or straight or bi. By doing it with more people, you'll lose the bonding effect that sex has.
\n
Second: stop living in fairy-tale world. All relationships, romantic or otherwise, are going to go through some shit eventually. Don't let a little shit be the end of it, try to be patient and understanding of your partner. Learn to compromise, or just agree to disagree.
\n
Third: set a good example to your children. if your own marriage is a failure, you can't expect much better of the next generation. Teach them to have a realistic view on marriage instead of what they'll learn from fiction and celebrity gossip.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"pk3q6azmw","appParentAuthor":"whyaskwhy","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |
