Many times the children are using those words because they know it will get a reaction out of you. If you take away the power that the words hold to make you react, eventually the child will lose interest.
\n
A lot of it just depends on how old the kid is too. Younger children just repeat what they hear. As soon as they pick up a new word, they will probably start repeating that as well.
The first thing will be to identify his source of vulgarity. Most kids don't just grow up and vulgarity appears or pops up in them. They sure picked it up from somewhere and that will be the way to get it out of their system by taking the source away from them. Most of them pick up this words frim friends, movies, clubs, companions etc.

When i say take it away, i don't mean if the source is a friend or school, you get them out of the school or something but i just mean that when you've identified where the vulgarity is coming from, then you will be able to actively contol their exposure to it like in the case of movies for example, to caution them better etc.

Most at times, the source is parents. Children easily pick up these words from us as parents and you will only get it out of their system if we stop using them ourselves. That means teaching by example.

You might also want to implement disciplinary measures like grounding them for example when they do. Punishing them seriously will make them realize the gravity of their words and how serious you are to make them stop it.

Hope this helps...
