I used to think that wrestling was real until one day I know that it was faked and scripted but I still admire their abilities and sports and the risk they do.
\n
It is not easy to do what they do every week. They have to go through a lot of training and pain to achieve what they achieve. It is not easy to live through sometimes being unappreciated by the fans. Sometimes, in some ways, it is quite unfair being a wrestler if the scripts lets the other wrestler win all the time and all the results are determined by the management. I have seen in articles that wrestlers who win even though the whole thing is fake, they get paid more as compared to the loser which is scripted.
\n
That being said, they could easily integrate into UFC which fights for real and some wrestlers are tough enough to win championships. I guess, they can't fight like how UFC fighters fight as it is an entertainment showcase that is previous weekly. Imagine really beating your opponents till they can't get up and then how is the wrestler able to make it to the next show?
\n
I have seen some of the different situations where the different situations where wrestlers have endured really painful injuries. There had been deaths too. Like the Owen Heart death and Droz who was injured and forever is wheelchair bounded. Then some have nose smack broken by ladders and also having lots of injuries to their bodies. Imagine being on top of steel cage and knowing that in the script, the undertaker is going to throw us off the cage and land onto somewhere from four storeys onto this table. We have to know where we land or else it could be fatal.
\n
But the good side is that, some wrestlers have then because of their good acting skills, become good actors and transitioned to become hollywood mega stars.
\n
It is an act but it's not an easy act. The person needs to be mentally tough and a bit fearless to face such painful things. I don't think I could be a wrestler if I was given a chance.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"pkxk6p2yq","appParentAuthor":"adenijiadeshina","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}"
