| json_metadata | "{"app":"Musing","appTags":["Wealth"],"appCategory":"Wealth","appTitle":"Why can't everyone be rich in the world?","appBody":"<p>Well that's pretty simple, if everybody was rich then who would do the jobs that poor people usually do. </p><p>It's easy to see bus drivers or street sweepers and say that you'll never become like that but the truth is that these people are important and without them things would be a lot more difficult.</p><p>If everyone was rich then there would be no need to do certain jobs because you'll already have enough money to prevent yourself from actually having to go and find more so there's no need to work, least of all as a cleaner or a driver or worse.</p><p>Wealth distribution in the world may not be equal of fair for that matter, but that's how society has adapted to living and its what makes it possible for the society as a whole to function. There has to be someone at the lower end of the ladder who'll be willing to do those little but essential jobs which most people would probably reject, there's have to be someone to play a maid, a driver, a cook and so much more and these are positions that simply wouldn't be filled if everyone was rich.</p><p>Maybe the pay and appreciations for these kind of jobs should increase, but the fact still remains that without the concept of rich and poor, nobody would agree to work and the world wouldn't move forward, it'd just be a planner or rich snobs.</p><p>I hope this helps.</p>","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"pkyfwu28x","appParentAuthor":"namasico","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |

There should a limitation or scarcity to enjoy things or services. If there is pure abundance where everyone is rich, then there will be no prosperity.</p><p> Scarcity and the pursue of abundance is what drive creativity, research, cure for diseases, manufacturing and other mental and physical production. Everyone with his/her expertise is a building block or part of the chain that keeps the engine of the society working. </p><p>That mechanism will be disrupted with everyone been rich and every product or service will eventually cost a fortune and nobody will be rich or very few people will find a way to stay rich.</p><p>The question is another form of asking why don't the government print huge money and give it to everyone. This will lead to hyperinflation. The price of everything will rise and we will be back to the same situation, if not worse.</p><p>Lets imagine the senerio where government gave us all a bag full of freshly mint money. We all want good things of life and a large percentage of people are likely to queue at the car or phone dealer's that day or the next.</p><p>Car manufacturers will most likely raise the price because increase in demand - Economics 101. The same thing will play out across the society. Car manufacturer raising money means his customer, the phone maker will increase the price of his phone because of increase in phone demand and to meet up with increase in price of car among other items, And his customer, the cobbler will increase the price of shoes also for the same reasons.</p><p>One may ask, why would anyone increase the price because of higher demand in the first place?</p><p>Everyone does not have the nicest things because they cannot afford them. As soon they can afford them and there is higher demand for those things. The manufacturer would have to buy more materials, build more factories, employ more workers to cater for hike in demand. Being rich denotes having more money, assets than the rest. If everyone had equal amounts of money and assets, then you wouldn't be able to say they are rich. </p><p>The world is ever increasing and by this I mean the people in it. There are more than 7 billion people already and the resources available to serve all of them are limited. So, few people are gathering a much as possible while some can only get their hands on a handful. </p><p>Human resources are needed to feel rich and one has to have enough of them under the payroll to feel rich. If that's not possible, then one cannot be said to be truly rich. </p><p>A lot of people cannot be rich because of their mindset. They have wrong definition of wealth and think that the cars and money makes one wealthy. </p><p>Another reason why everyone cannot be rich is because most poor people have the wrong set of people advising them. How do you take financial advice from a poor man a yourself a expect to be rich? It just doesn't happen. </p><p>Many poor people never risk anything and think it's too risky to take a risk.
