Yes, we definitely could. Entertainment is nothing more but a tool to distract you from the things that truly matter in life.

And you might think "wtf is he speaking about", but let me clarify. I do understand you feel great when you are entertaining yourself (playing a videogame, drinking in the club etc) but the fact is long-term you are not doing anything good for yourself. Nor anything constructive. You are just wasting your energy, mental resources and the most precious asset you have - TIME!

So use your time wisely, less entertainment - more things that matter. You know, those little - invisible things. Loving people around you, being present in the moment, appreciating all the beautiful invisible things life has to offer rather than wasting yourself on an illusion. Cause that's what majority of entertainment these days is - illusion.

True entertainment, therefore true & long-lasting happiness, comes from withing. And that's a fact... until you find it in the very depth of yourself, you'll most likely wander around jumping from one entertainment to another, searching for joy that will never-ever last. Just fade... until you step in another illusion

That's an interesting question. Surely we could survive without any entertainment, but what's the point with that? I'm sure humans have had some form of entertainment for as long as we've interacted with each other, from primal versions of it where people did funny stuff, to more advanced entertainment like we got today with movies and TV shows.

But I don't see any reason why we would not be able to live without it, but it just does not make much sense to do so.

According to Wikipedia, Entertainment is a form of activity that holds the attention and interest of an audience, or gives pleasure and delight. Entertainment has to do with fun, pleasure, leisure, relaxation, interest etc. Going by this, entertainment has become a part of human life. Human has invented various things for human entertainment such as television, handsets, social media, relaxation center, shows, programs, even the swimming pool. We have become so adapted to it that it will be difficult living without one.

Now let's say all these were taken away, human will still look for a way of entertaining themselves. In the olden days when there was no science and technology, people amused themselves via wrestling, dancing competition, story telling under the moonlight, local outdoor games in Africa, Nigeria as a case study. Human has learnt to adapt to whatever situation they find themselves.

With this I'll say no humans can't live without entertainment, we would always improvise.
