Builders. In fact most construction workers and so-called 'unskilled trades'.

In the UK, these ladies and gents go through a comprehensive training scheme run by the Construction Industry Training Scheme (CITB). Their work is both physical and skillful and we all rely on these people to build safely to ensure our safety.

They often work in dangerous conditions, building sites may look fun but the potential for accidents is high so they also need a lot of on the job and specialist health and safety knowledge to ensure safe working practises for themselves and their colleagues.

The skill in construction is also often ignored. It takes years and an awful lot of practise to become a bricklayer or a plasterer for example. Has anyone here actually tried to do some plastering or bricklaying? It is so difficult, but these trades people make it look quick and effortless.

In many countries, trades people and construction workers are treated as the lowest of the low, with poor and unsafe working conditions, with lousy salaries (Thailand, I'm looking at you) and they receive very little Health and Safety Training, but still, they work hard and take pride in their work.

Tradespeople, Construction Workers and Builders I take my (hard!) hat off to you :-)
