I was as active as I am right now even when the price was about 60 cents. A matter a fact almost all of the cryptocurrencies are suffering in term of price right now. I admit that if the price of Steem would be at around $5 somehow my \"excitement\" to write and to be active on Steem would be even bigger I don't get frustrated or not motivated to write with this price either. When I joined the platform Steem was priced at about $10 and the only thing I was thinking was it at $10 and back then I was earning probably a Steem at a couple of days, even less.</p>\n<p> Now I am earning a bit more and even if the price is low and it's not worth trading it for fiat I am still engaged. There's much more that the current price that keeps me engaged. It's the opportunity. The opportunity to be part of a blockchain based platform like Steemit and musing that really have a future and great use cases. It's the opportunity of stacking Steem and no matter what price and sell it when the price will go up again. And it will go. All of the cryptos will rise again in price. It's just a matter of time. Imagine that Steem at some point in time was at around a few cents and people were still blogging and what's even greater than that is that the ones being active no matter what the price was are now whales and orcas and dolphins and have tens of thousands of Steem. </p>\n<p>It all happened because they had a vision and trusted that vision. When the price of Steem was at around 7-8 dollars some of them might have sold a portion of it but they didn't do that when it was 20 cents and that's the catch. Earn it at no matter what price it is being valued and sell it when it's high. Don't let the price affect your passion and engagement. Prices go up and down. It's like a roller coaster. Because the price is going down many users are dialing down their activity on the platform. The inflation of STEEM is unaffected by the price, however. This means that with less competition, STEEM will be easier to obtain. It must be admitted, though, that following this strategy only makes sense if one believes that the price will rise in the future. I'm willing to bet that the price will go up again. </p>\n<p>I'm optimistic because I'm no spring chicken in the crypto space and I've seen many ups and downs. Bitcoin has withstood so many attacks that it is difficult to imagine it dying because of the FUD of 2018. The whole ecosystem has been much weaker in the past and yet it has survived and bounced back every time. The story of Bitcoin is part of the young generation's rebellion against the powers that be. I believe the same will happen to this rebellion that happened to the rebellion of the previous generation. It's values will become mainstream and it will become the new status quo. Blockchain-based solutions will one day be a mainstay of Web 3.0. I'm not interested in the short-term price fluctuations. As far as I'm concerned, the price of STEEM may go back to $0.07 where it was in March 2017 if it wants to. I will keep stacking it up. A thriving, expanding decentralized ecosystem full of talented individuals with a can-do attitude like Steem is unlikely to die any time soon. With expansion and external fiat revenue streams in place, the price will eventually find a fair and sustainable value.</p>","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"pkrgmw9e5","appParentAuthor":"nonsowrites","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |

When steem is low it is a good time to invest or collect more SP. Right now the payout for SP are rather large because Steem is low. I mean just imagine steem being priced at 20 dollars, like you would need to invest 20,000 dollars in order to receive only 1000 steem. You know what people say, buy when it's low and sell when it's high. It makes no sense to bitch around over price as you will probably just degrade yourself instead of pushing yourself towards being better. After all life can be summed up as a path on which we learn and improve ourselves.
