Well, my City is Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers state, Nigeria.

The price of a meal could vary drastically from one place to another, take for example, a meal at Transcorp Hilton's De Bukka will be far more expensive than a meal at a normal restaurant like Kilimanjaro or Kingfisher. The restaurant you choose will be dependent on what the occasion is. If you just want to grab a bite or have a decent enough dinner then you could just go to any of the many normal or should I say fast food restaurants in your area and you'll spend around 1500-3000(Roughly 5-10$) naira at most and you'll get a stomach full of good food.

If you want to do something special, or you're looking to take someone out to a fancy restaurant then places like De Bukka, Le Meridien, Woodhouse and others would be the best place to go and trust me, compared to the others, the food ain't cheap. You'll probably end up spending anything from 3500-10000 naira(roughly 10-30$) on the food and this may not even include drinks.

If you take what you're eating into consideration, then the price range differs from native foods to \"continental\" dishes(it's just a fancy name for anything that isn't purely African). In my experience, the native foods often cost more than the continental ones, so if you're on a budget in my city then you should probably stick to the continental dishes.

Well if you're really on a very tight budget then you might want to consider taking a step down and eating at a local restaurant or 'Mama Put\" as it's called. it'll suprise you that sometimes the food actually tastes better in places like that. The price of food ranges from 250-1000 naira(roughly 1-3$) and places like this are the number one choice for students and people who don't have alot of money to spend.

Any of these places will do the trick for you and I doubt you won't be satisfied, so if you're ever in the garden city of Port Harcourt, look at your pocket and decide which one is for you.

I hope this helps.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"pk5nuqh85","appParentAuthor":"ologi","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |
