It will help sanitize the society if we have tougher prisons, although prisons are considered as correctional centers but there are people who serve time in prison and still come out to commit the crime for which he/she was first imprisoned for. Having tougher prison systems will help eradicate the process whereby a convict returns from jail to still commit a crime.

Prisons are meant to be feared, but this days most people commit a crime because of their lack of fear for being jailed, it should not be that way. People should be meant to see reasons why they should not commit a crime so they wouldn't be jailed.

Introducing more severe torturing measures will limit the number of crimes as well as the number of people that are being jailed annually across the world.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"f3v849vzw","appParentAuthor":"otondoandrew","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |

Prison should be a deterrent and like living in hell. Very few people fear prison.
\n
Russia used to have their prisons in Siberia. Prisoners worked on the salt mines and there was no chance of escape due to the harsh conditions. It was a death sentence going to one of these prisons.
\n
I think if today's prisoners were put into labor camps and were used to do some good then maybe they would think twice before committing a crime. What we see today is a spoilt prisoner who has rights. Prisoners should have no rights as they are no longer part of society.
\n
These are my feelings and some say may be harsh but maybe we would have less crime with a harsher prison system.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"f3v849vzw","appParentAuthor":"otondoandrew","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |
