It has certainly made life easier and the capturing of special events possible. There a however other benefits of taking photographs.

One, photography helps you keep memories that lasts for a long time, almost forever. Many people have actually come across old photographs of their grandparent's parents or someone along the chain that is the family lineage. Some days ago, my uncle posted a picture of my younger brother on Facebook revealing when he was barely twelve years old. Now, he's almost twenty-two. He looked so small then and it gave us the laugh remembering the past. This leads to the second benefit.

Two, photography helps us capture times and catalogue our progress through life. With pictures, you are able to measure your progress and documents the happenings in your life. I have never been one for the camera but I don't criticize those who make an addiction for photography. It's really a nice thing to do when done in moderation.

Three, photography helps to calm the nerves. Have you ever taken an old photo album and feel relaxed going through the memories? That's awesome effect of photography. It has a soothing effect and though I haven't quite made a research about it, I know there must be some rational explanation for that.

Four, photography helps to boost confidence. So many have the feeling that they are not good enough, or beautifully enough. Taking pictures does help to boost the confidence, self-esteem of an individual. It shows you your beauty, even if others may not see it.

Photography provide the opportunity to make money. Yes. There are lots of people who have carved a path for themselves taking photographs and selling them. There are several online stores who request for submissions of beautiful photographs. I even heard of someone who got a lot of money because of the picture of a man he took that was almost perfect.

Lastly for me, for the purpose of this question, and by no means the least, photography helps you appreciate nature more. Have you ever taken a picture of a scenery and are left in awe of the beauty of nature? That's what I'm talking about. I remember capturing a scenery of an hill as the sun was setting and casting its shadows on the hilltop. That's like one of the most beautiful pictures I've ever taken. It made me appreciate nature and its designer more.

Thanks for the question.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"p3upqed8x","appParentAuthor":"westleek","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}"
