I do not perform any kind of research (most times), so it can be tricky sometimes.</p><p>So first of all, I have a set of beliefs when it comes to creative writing. One of which is that as a writer you do not have control over the content you produce. It's more like it controls you. It decides when it wants to come up--the idea. So you're more or less like the vessel waiting to be filled. I think I got this idea from Stephen King in his memoir. He postulated that writers are born and not created, and I deem this to be true to some extent.</p><p>Now coming to the issue of inspiration. I think one of the best ways to draw inspiration as a creative writer is through other people and your environment in general. One of the best poems I have written was inspired by my favorite song at that moment. I have gone to write a number of poems from the songs I listen to. I don't know, but I think I have this unique ability to empathize. And that has helped my writing in the sense that I can write things I have never experienced with a level of sincerity that is believable. So I would say listening to music is on top of my list of things that inspire me.</p><p>Secondly, I would say thinking. I don't know about other people, but I like to make up things in my head. My mind is like a playground and I do a lot of weird stuff on it. </p><p>So that's how I get inspired to write.</p><p>I also write about other things too. I'm a crypto enthusiast so if you go through my page you will see a lot of crypto-related articles. Most of which are prompted by other people's ideas or post.</p><p>There is an endless source of material and energy one can draw from to create, you just need to find the one that works best for you. And like I said earlier, never try to force it. Let it come naturally--your creativity. If you do otherwise you might hate what you produce. However, it is important not to break the chain of your creative flow. Utilize that energy when it comes and it will continue as long as you sustain it.
