But in the end whatever the reason is the fact remains that he’s made the decision, and he’s leaving so there’s that.

And if the situation is really hypothetical then knowing my friend he’s probably leaving in search of greener pastures in another country - so why wouldn’t I be happy for him?

I mean yeah of course I might feel a little bit sad and just a tiny tiny bit envious and all that, because obviously we’re all humans, but I wouldn’t let that change absolutely anything and I’d still root for him and cheer him on and encourage him.

I’d try to enjoy the last days I’ll get to have with his before his travel and we’d probably try to do the things we love doing—we’ll sit outside in the open verandah at night and we’d reminisce and look at the beautiful stars and laugh our guts out.

And then play video games all day of course.

We’d also probably go out—which we barely do—and soak it in for the last time. We’d hang out at a bar or something with our other friends and throw a mini leaving-the-country party.

Then we’d say our proper goodbyes—even though we both suck at it—and I’d see him off to the airport if he wants me to. But knowing him I’m sure he probably wouldn’t like it very much, because like I said, we both hate goodbyes.

After he’d gone I’ll he sure to try to keep in touch as much as possible. We’ll probably have video calls all night and I’d see if I can live vicariously through him. I’m sure he’d like me to. I’ve never left my country and I know he’d be so excited to share everything with me and show me as much of his life and surroundings abroad as possible.

And of course I’d be sure to get out of the house myself and make new friends—or at least I’d try to because truth is I’m not really good at that either. I’d try to hang out with some of our other friends, though, but it certainly wouldn’t be the same and truth is I’d actually miss him like hell!

But I wouldn’t tell him. I wouldn’t want him to feel bad about leaving and everything. And of course Life goes on. We all have our lives to live and I wouldn’t want him, of course, to put his life on hold just because I’m an insecure chicken.

So I’d try to make new friends and find distractions and all.

Then the second scenario is if he left after we had a fight or a falling out or something. Then I might really get cranky.

Oh this would be extremely torturous, because the mere thought of falling out with him is plain hell! Then to have him leave after that! To not be able to apologize and or talk things out and all that. That would crush me.

I’d probably cash out my life savings and be on the next flight to wherever he is. Hopefully it’s london. I heard there are a lots of beggars there. I could do some begging myself to raise a few bucks to get back home.

But like I said I’d still be happy for him even at that. I’d hope he becomes successful and find whatever he’s looking for. Hopefully we can both have our dreams and work things out sometimes in the future. That’d be perfect.

So there you have it—the things I’d do should my douchebag of a best friend decide to leave me all alone and go to an entirely different country.

Oh and finally it ALSo depends on the country he’s leaving for. If he goes to Canada then I’m DEFINITELY smuggling myself into his bag and following him all the way! Same goes for Australia. Is any other place even worth it?

Cheers!!!
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"pkry6g795","appParentAuthor":"arindinighalo","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}"
