I did some digging around, and I cannot find a single good source claiming that it gains weight after death. </p>\n<p>However, a dead body will likely <em>feel </em>a lot heaver than an alive person, since humans and most animals have a tendency to use their muscles to make it easier for the carrier to carry them.
