I get close to a GB of speed when the network isn't bogged down from all of the other people being on it.</p>\n<p>Actually, I doubt I ever get the full speed that I am supposedly paying for. We have just moved over to fiber and is much better.</p>\n<p>The Government telephone company is a joke and we had many issues with the internet before. It was expensive with terrible service and unreliable.</p>\n<p>Since the fiber has gone in we are actually saving money as we don't need a phone line anymore. | json_metadata | "{"app":"Musing","appTags":["Internet"],"appCategory":"Internet","appTitle":"How much do you pay for your internet subscription monthly?","appBody":"<p>Well I live in Nigerian western Africa and internet subscriptions are moderate, not overly expensive or cheap as it were however I think this is the way it is generally is in west Africa, however in other part of south Africa let's say southern Africa, internet data is very expensive I heard this from gavvet, one of the big users on steemit and also my exclusive interview with @dragonslayer101</p>\n<p>However not to deviate from the question I use the internet subscriptions of two service provider company in Nigeria, namely 9mobile and Airtel as well, now Airtel internet subscriptions is more cheaper to buy and 9mobile is more expensive but also very efficient per kilobyte and the speed rate of streaming a video or blogging.</p>\n<p>So the airtel monthly subscriptions have various rates and sizes but I do not want to bore you with them so I buy a plan that's affordable and the one that'll be enough for my estimated time use per month.</p>\n<p>So I buy airtel subscriptions of five gigabyte which costs 2500 naira (Nigerian currency) which is approximately (8$) eight USD.</p>\n<p>Also I buy a 9mobile monthly data plan of one gigabytes which is 1000 naira also approximately (3.45$) USD and I switch the both plans while using my phone, as you can see, I spend 11.45$ USD buying data monthly on two different service provider monthly as well and I don't know if you'll call that cheap or expensive but I think it's quite moderate for me.</p>","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"pk7jv2985","appParentAuthor":"stevenrok","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |

It's not convenient but it's a necessary sacrifice to stay online, make money and be educated and upvoted. </p><p>Network providers here are making a killing of their subscribers especially this 9mobile. The only reason why I still use them it's the only network that doesn't make me wait for long before a query brings results. Even MTN doesn't compare with its speed rate. We'll be moving soon from here environment and I'm getting ready to dump 9mobile already. The absence of it in our daily life and mostly to those who are dependent through Internet it is a necessity. So spending some money on it is indeed needed anyway.</p>\n<p>While my monthly subscription charge for the internet that I use is 15 USD per month. While the speed is relatively slow but with the works that I usually do goes smoothly.
