That means you're simplifying the equation to totally remove the brackets. </p>\n<p>Because the only thing <strong>in </strong>the brackets is addition, do that first.</p>\n<p><strong>6รท2(3) = ?</strong> </p>\n<p>Now you need to remove the brackets entirely. Many of the other commenters jumped to multiplication at this step, but forgot to <em>completely </em>resolve the brackets. </p>\n<p><strong>6รท6 = ?</strong> </p>\n<p>Now that the brackets have been totally removed, you can move to the next step which is to do division and multiplication from left to right.
