It looks like Steemit has pulled most of the delegations that they'd given out.</p>\n<p>I imagine that it is part of Steemit Inc reducing their state on the blockchain, where they're powering down their accounts. </p>\n<p>I imagine that the reason for the power down, and this is purely speculation, is so that they can continue to fund their company and the blockchain maintenance and also so that their stake on the platform isn't so huge. </p>\n<p>But as I said, everything here is speculation. So take it for what it is. At the end of the day though, a delegation is a gift. Steemit Inc don't have to give out delegations at all. And they've historically used it as a way to incentivise Applications and to help applications get set up on the blockchain. Some people have used the delegations well, and others have abused it (DLive for example). </p>\n<p>So I think if Steemit Inc were to stop delegating, then it might bring forth some more honest players and make people dependant on the quality of their offering and the value it brings to the platform.
