People are living longer these days so a normal retirement 50 years ago is different form today. The healthcare is better, but also expensive and the older you get the more care you may need. An amount that is right for today will be very different from a decade ago and it will constantly rise.</p>\n<p>If you retired tomorrow thinking you have vast riches it could be very different in 10 years time. The cost of living is rising rapidly with price increases on essential items the norm today.</p>\n<p>I would suggest if you have a roof over your head paid off and a decent pension coming in monthly and some decent savings and investments then you should be fine. Will it be fine in 10 or 15 years though and that is the hard point to get right.</p>\n<p>I think I will retire comfortably but will be doing Steem and things like that to substitute my income so my savings lasts a lot longer.
