I have so many happy events in my life that makes me happy whenever I remember them but let me choose to talk about when I won a scholarship.

The scholarship came at the time when I needed it most. I know I had sat for the exa,s but the names were yet to be published. I was done with my school and was awaiting to be posted for the national youth service corps scheme which is a compulsory scheme for all graduates in NIGERIA. Daddy had no money on him as he had lost his job the previous year and I was really wondering where on earth I would get the money to proceed and even do my clearance in school

That fateful day, two weeks to my NYSC, I was at home when someone called me on phone that he saw my name published on one of the national dailies. Excitedly, I called my dad and asked him to purchase one of the dailies and confirm if what I heard was true. He called me some minutes back to tell me it was a fact. I immediately jumped into a bus down to my school, and I saw my name on the school notice board with lots of happy faces with congratulations on their lips. Oh my goodness, I felt like a celebrity that day. You should have seen me chuckling from ear to ear as I couldn't hide my excitement. The money was paid into my account and it made my service year so smooth.

Talking about it still makes me smile. That is one of the best things that has ever happened to me.
