6 STEEM is correct based on the account creation fee of 0.2. 30x is the formula that the blockchain uses. 0.2 is the minimum amount that must be used if doing the delegated (more complicated) method.

Not sure. The developers wrote it that way, I never asked why. One of the main purposes of the account creation fee is to ensure users have enough SP to cover the bandwidth requirements to interact with the blockchain.

This is definitely over my head. Do the things we write actually interact with code that parses them and makes them useful to whatever the blockchain actually is? Or is it a facade/gimmick to make our silly musings feel meaningful, and there's really just magic money being paid for the things people like?
