Thanks for sharing your scary experience with the belt. Your Dad sure knew when to scare you and your mom, @plantstoplanks. I would have screamed like crazy thinking the belt was a real snake.

My snake phobia does prevent me from going into tall grass or picking berries unless they are on the edge of an area I can see clearly. Once when Hubs and I were out walking, a snake crossed our path, I screamed and practically jumped on Hubby’s back. I knew the snake was harmless and try to tell myself they have their place in nature, especially for eating pests in the garden.

Because of my fear, I am always on the lookout and probably see them where others may miss them.
