>What I clearly don't have the math skills to devise is a moving target based on weight, number of votes, age of post at time of vote, and stake that moves the curation sweet spot around so bots and algorithms can't predict it ahead of time. >The desired result is that weight, place in line, and time between votes serves to move the curation sweet spot from always number one to some random point down the line over the 7 days while not giving first and last less than linear rewards. [From this post](https://peakd.com/curation/@antisocialist/the-daily-meme-173) that I wrote a few days back. Linear is boring. Voting on posts and not getting the boost to the vote value that voting posts with some value on them already used to give is disappointing, to me. I'd like to see something that puts some random in the game, again. The mental picture I get is a deck of cards being manipulated where the center card serves to hold up the rest of the cards to the left and the right all leaning to the center card. A single card is used to slide along the tops of the leaning cards to move the number leaning from left to right, and back again. I'm sure you've seen the trick, but damned if I know its name, and brave search isn't helping. Anyway, bringing some kind of gaming back to day one would be great. I know the n2 has too many issues, but is n1.xxx possible? Just for day one, the other days could could do their own thing. Perhaps, for later voters rather than send it to day one, it could go to a pool to be split among the voters that vote after day one. Something to think about, for sure. Honestly, what we have is pretty good. Much better than before. If defi kicks off 400 million hive isn't very many. Have we reached the point where what is left to be created is less than what exists?

Experimenting on the base layer is getting boring. The second layer exists and caters to those with specific interests.

Not having coin distribution on layer one ends any doubt about who controls the coin. Without the opportunity to earn hive the incentive to buy any is reduced, imo. Why would I buy into a game I can never win? One day I would like to grow up to be a whale, too. And not because the ones we had dumped for pennies a hive. I think the folks that can earn on layer one will be a pretty exclusive club. And, probably should be. Layer two will suck up alot of the newbs. The crab bucket for hive should persist, iyam.

I'm not saying take distribution away from the base layer. Stating experimenting is getting boring. Like every HF that made adjustments, within weeks people want to change things, again.
