[QAs Game Dev Blog] Week 4 - Progress Grid
Welcome to week 4 of my game development blog! So, what have I accomplished this week?

# A Bit of a Step Back?
Ok, so not a HUGE setback, and I knew it was coming.  I've decided to follow through [sergeant indie's excellent turn based strategy tutorial on YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lVxoEjQ8-s).  Each episode is about 20 minutes long, but tends to take double that amount of time since I'm not running dual monitors in my office and instead coding from the comfort of my couch.  Watch a little, write a little, go back, watch it again, then squash bugs caused by mis-keyed stuffs.  Try to understand what I'm doing.  Sip beer.  Repeat.

# Remaking the Grid
Yup, it's grid time.  I figured that due to the relative simplicity of code in my game, it would be far better to have a better understanding of the base code.  It would also be wise to code a more secure and sensible foundation rather than to try to build the roof first and put the floor in last.  I plan on going through quite a bit of sergeant's tutorial, even though I wont use all of it, just to get a better understanding of how to code several interactions with the grid and to get more comfortable with arrays.

So for now, I have a grid that will identify the currently selected grid square in the array, and I'm starting to handle a bit of the mouse control.  The grid is also self-populating, in the sense that I dont have to create all of the grid objects themselves, I'm passing that to a script that runs instead.  Self-generating objects are cool!

Not a huge amount of progress, but every little bit helps!  See you next week!
