So when people dont have the ability to earn through work since automation replaced them, how is there voluntaryism?  When corporations are earning more money through the development of AI and robotics, do you think that leads to move voluntaryism?  

And it is ironic that you mention this as your reason for being against it when UBI actually encourages voluntaryism.  Do you think most people who take a job at McDonalds, work in an customer service center, answer phones in an office, or work as sales people do so because they love what they do and voluntarily do it?  Or do you think they take those jobs AND remain in those jobs because they need the check?  UBI gives people the ability to say no to garbage/slave work.  

This is the reason free market guys like Charles Murray, Milton Friedman, and Friedrich Hayak all support/supported UBI.

freemarketkev : I completely share your view. But, we have to understand that a basic income would be completely voluntary. The current system is un-voluntary, as almost nobody likes their jobs, and they don't do it for fun, but because they have to pay those un-voluntary bills and taxes, and support their families. That is not by free choice at all.

If everybody got a Basic income, there would still be jobs, and people would still want to work. But it would be an option, a freedom. Not slavery.

This does not replace work, it provides a base for everyone, and anyone can earn as much as they want on top of this base. (by working) If you want more than the base provided, you will have to work for it, by choice.

It would free people to achieve greatness, and explore what they are good in, and what they love to do, instead of have to do. 

Freedom is having the choice.
