caught the "decade" part... ;) I suspect it will become a layer 2 solution for Steem (though it does not need one for scalability) and more importantly an excellent tool for interoperability and liquidity for SMTs. Steem Engine is on-boarding blockchain currencies build on EOS and plans to add ERC20s. I have no doubt they will add ERC721s, add Loom tokens, Cosmos coins and so on... Layer 2 market.

It'll be good for all of us... competition will have them competing hopefully toward better feature sets. Probably pushing steem-engine towards more decentralization. Maybe bringing out more people creating distribution products like Scot. Or even totally trustless / decentralized distribution features.
