Is it unreasonable to have more than one upvote and downvote option? 

Intuitively when we see the flag we think it's for spam and abuse, and the tooltip says that flagging the post  can take away rewards and make material less visable. This can be a severe penalty and more than a "downvoter" would be comfortable with. They may just disagree, or think the post is poorly conceived, but not want to penalize so harshly.

Conversely, there are posts, like those from @dantheman, that feel like they are not quite deserving of a large monetary payout, but are still very much appreciated. Like the post that is made here. I assume there are many others like me that really would like to give an upvote to this post, but don't want to because there are other posts that deserve reward more than yours here, but we still want to voice our appreciation by giving the "thumbs up".

It would seem that there is no downside to having a thumbs up thumbs down option that doesn't affect monetary rewards, along with the upvote reward button and the flag for abuse option.

I can only assume that such an idea has already been considered, but if not I wonder what the issues might be for implementation as it would seem to solve a problem while introducing only a modicum of complication to the system.

@dantheman hope you roll that out soon. There is a whole community of people that have been downvoted once by a whale and effectively banned from the platform. For instance I was downvoted once by @berniesanders two weeks ago when I was a new user for not knowing the convention, and now I can't participate.

In the last days I saw many user who spam frequently. How about having a group who can report these spammers and an admin decides whether  or not do downvote or completely censor them? The reputation system is definitely a great step towards  improving our ecosystem and making people think twice before they spam. Looking forward for more solutions to reduce this annoying behavior. In case I come up to an idea I will try to spread the word :) (but not the spammy way lol)
