Proxy is never really needed, you can always look at his votes and make the same votes directly yourself.

Also, will you remain active on chain even though you shut down your witness? I've met several people that spoke highly of you but the opportunity never really presented itself to bump into you.

I'm still here now. Obviously there are many important changes taking place now, more than ever in the history of Steem, so we will have to see how the situation develops over time.
