Conflating DPOS with the subjective quality (which are weeds and which are not)  is totally  nonsensical - IF you are not of the authoritarian mindset.

 If you _are_ of the authoritarian  mindset,  then it would make perfect sense, as a way to exert their power over others.
Many talk about the beauty of decentralization, but at the same time wish to sit on the seat of power - ie - become the new center of power yourself.
