are you seriously considering sueing FACEBOOK as a valid option ? all of steemwallets combined dont have the money for that, mah frend ... the TEK-5 or 9 fight battles with the EU for years how the hell would a pack of petri-dish fish go against that, even if the underlying point is to the point you need to check reality here, that's just burning money. Better would be to bribe companies to side with or convince them that steem (not necessarily steem-IT) has added value to offer (in any way, doesnt just have to be fee-less transactions on an incorruptible ledger) and companies can bring people because they CAN advertise to their clients or even simply *provide* wallets / accounts .
This thing where *steemit inc* , the social network DAPP they operate is confused with STEEM and the steemchain is not really a good thing i thingk ... minus g yea its not the same thing. This is ONE application running on top of the blockchain itself and steemit is the centralized company lol ... the de-centralization likes with what (i thought it used to be 50 but i read its only 20 ?) people voting on "the rules" as proposed by , so this is a nice way to crowd-source ... I see a lot of effort being made but also a lot of delusions (like HF21 for instance) which is good because at least people are trying , which wasnt happening when money was raining ... takes world war 2 to jolt the americans, right ? (bad european joke i guess ... Churchill woulda loved that one though ...)

It's a lot of reading and thanks @therealfolf for the informative posts, that's much appreciated although i dont share your view on "how cool free downvotes are" and i hope smartsteem can fix itself somehow (and stay profitable for you too btw)
i would personally vote for no more payouts to run a node so people who do need to run business in order to make money, its already low-cost requirement BUT AT THE MOMENT

that would be a bad idea because the pool would grow too small and nasty stuff could happen, youd need a broader base first ... (and who the hell is gonna vote themselves out of free money in order to save the planet that feeds them ? that would be first for humanity, i have no illusions there)

that's a lot of reading, and a nice way to crowdsource ... and probably also a nice way for some witnesses (not saying YOU there) to grab ideas as proposals to stay in the top 20 but everything that keeps this thing floating (for now) and gets the price up is fine with me. Makkiavelli if need be, BUT

the inflation is the biggest problem ... if it were in any way possible to switch to capped or pegged that would take out one huge issue .. the problem is how to translate that to the number one DAPP running on and off of it ?

You would still have STEEM as a token and the chain could do what it does i suppose but how to present people with rewards coming out of thin air when it doesnt come out of thin air anymore ?

At the very least have more than 3 digits ... maybe ask the numbers guys, holger and cronies or something ... and put the old ned & dan in a room , lock the door, throw the key and dont let them out until they come up with a solution :D

anyways ....

ive been talking way too much again and while im talking im not *doing stuff*

thanks for the intel, always much appreciated

*too hard* ?

*nasa put a rover on mars, how much more numbers can it be*

winks, yea, better to grin and grit than to cry about it

probably out of RC, heh, there's some very bright minds here but the internal tribalism isnt helping ... everyone wants the center stage and the number one spot ... and at the moment that's hurting everything

The Class Action against Facebook, Google & Twitter is very serious and has support from some of the best legal minds in Australia. We are suing in Australia, not the US or EU and I know from experience that even the biggest opponents can be defeated by a strong legal case (which we have).
I've beaten opponents bigger than Facebook, Google & Twitter put together twice in the High Court of Australia, so I know what I'm talking about.
I suggest you have a good look at @jpbliberty's Proposal & website before jumping to uninformed conclusions.
