Questions About Voting Power

<p>Okay, so I'm still trying to figure some things out and have a couple questions about voting power.</p>
<p><br></p>
<p>My power is currently at 85%. &nbsp;What exactly does this mean? &nbsp;Does this mean that each of my votes counts less than it would were it at 100%? &nbsp;Or, do my votes count the same regardless of the level and the percentage is just a measure of how many votes I have left before I need to take a break to "refresh"? &nbsp;And finally, is there some optimal level of voting power that I should seek to maintain to maximize benefits to myself and others (for instance, always stay of "x" percent)?</p>

Here is my simplistic explanation.
Let's say if you have **100%** power the by voting you can give someone **$0.10**. 
Then your Steem Power at **80%** - you could give only **$0.08**.
Then your Steem Power at **50%** - you could give only **$0.05**.

Steem Power is how much you could give from the maximum of your ability to give.

Lower power means lower rewards. Optimal is vote at 100% and letting it recover, which takes about 36 minutes.
